Chocolate Brandy Balls


These Brandy Balls are a great addition to any Christmas treats platter.

Makes 60 brandy balls
350 g digestive biscuits crushed
80 g icing sugar, sifted
200 g pecan nuts ( or any nuts of your choice) , roughly ground
180 g black chocolate
115 ml brandy
3 tablespoons golden syrup
Granulated sugar
How to make:
1. Mix biscuits crumbs, icing sugar and ground nuts in a large bowl.
2. Gently Melt the chocolate on a Bain-Marie ( in a bowl over simmering water) or in the microwave (30 second low power). Stir in the brandy and golden syrup until homogenous consistency achieved . Add the chocolate mixture to the dry mixture and stir well. Put aside for 30 – 40 minutes.
3. Roll the mixture between your palms into 1-inch balls, then roll in the granulated sugar or fine biscuits crumbs to coat.
Place the balls in an airtight container, making sure to separate the layers with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Keep the container at a room temperature overnight, which will allow the flavors to develop

  1. Thank you for posting your recipe, I wanted to buy some today from the Bakery but they were charging a fortune, so those treats went out the window, I decided I am not that desperate! This looks to be a winner and I am sure the family will appreciate them. The recipe also makes an generous amount of eats, that is good enough for me.
